So what can you do with a Wakelet?

Alice Keeler shares several teacher ideas for Wakelet.  It has been the only curation site (and there have been many) that has worked for me.  It saves everything and is easy to use and share.  Sayreville University utilizes Wakelet for our professional development material and I use several for personal projects. If I’ve spoken to you about EduProtocols I probably shared my Wakelet resource (image above).

We all need a little help (but do we ask?)

Asking for help is not always easy to do. Stephen Noonoo mentions in his Edutopia blog post,  teachers have some of the same reasons as students for not looking for support. 10 tips to engage students

In this blog post, Alice Keeler shares simple suggestions to engage students in your classroom.  By making it relevant, using technology, and offering choice, you can help to deepen student interest.  In a kindergarten class this morning, I gave choice to several different videos- I was teaching skills and it didn’t matter to me which videos they watched.  The students were engaged and on task (and they demonstrated the skills).  And they asked me to come back!

Thinking about your learning

In a recent online book study, a member shared this article on Metacognition and reflection to help students become better writers. In Susan Barber’s article here,  I especially liked the suggestion of keeping track of how you overcame an obstacle or barrier. It would be a troubleshooting log of sorts to help you going forward. Could this work with your students?
