Take your students to space (via AR)

Eric Boehm  (SMS) shared this augmented reality app from NASA - Spacecraft 3D.  This app (for both IOS and Android) lets you see a variety of spacecraft up close and personal.  Here’s a photo of my experience.

What’s nice about this app is you only need to print out one target sheet (open the app and then old it over this sheet (NASA calls it a marker)- you make the selection of which craft to see using the app. Once you open the app, you can request the marked be emailed to you (or you can go here). Enjoy your journey!

ChatterPIX + AR Flashcards= Perfect Together

I hope you enjoy this iMovie created by Mrs. Read’s creative (and charming) K and 1st grade students.  First, they selected an animal from the AR Flashcard series.   After taking the picture, the students did some research  and wrote about their animal as a script for their ChatterPix.  When they were finished, Mrs Read combined their work (along with some of her animal photos) into this video.  The initial screening was for their parents last Friday at their Spring luncheon.  This is a nice example of a mash up- taking two different apps and creating something totally new! (Viewers note- the sound starts about 5 seconds into the video.)
