This world premiere event will feature a special message and video from Animal Planet’s EXTINCT OR ALIVE host Forrest Galante and discuss some easy things students can do to make the world a better place for wildlife.

A Live Earth Day Visit with Polar Bears (Elementary School Edition)

Students will learn all about polar bears and simple actions that can make a positive impact on our planet. Viewers will then take a virtual trip to the zoo for an exciting introduction to a real polar bear cub!

A Live Earth Day Visit with Polar Bears (Secondary School Edition)

Participating secondary school students will dive into the wild world of polar bears and learn how to help protect and preserve natural habitats. Attendees will then discover some little-known facts about polar bears before having a memorable meeting with a real cub!

Even though it is right around the corner (and we are just back from break and looking at PARCC testing), take a few minutes to review these collections of Earth Day activities.  Even if your schedule doesn’t allow you to celebrate on April 22, any time it a good time to honor the Earth!

It’s not too late for Earth Day

Since we are in the testing zone, it is easy to forget about Earth Day (Friday, 4/22).  But it’s not too late.  Discovery Education is sponsoring a twitter chat where you can ask the experts!  Before the event, watch the Expedition Earth Day and explore the activities with your students.
