Here’s a short video on how to add timestamps in the description of your YouTube video.

If you add: _popup after the word watch in the URL it will remove all the other videos on the side as well as ads and put it in full screen.

I saw in School Librarians Workshop on FB the other day a post from Shannon McClintock Miller about this new hack. Simply insert a - (minus sign) between the t and u in the URL of any Yout-ube video and it removes the ads.

Add music to your Screencastify video

While background music might not be appropriate for all Screencastify videos- it might work for some applications.  Please see Richard Byrne (Free Technology for Teachers) blog post for step by step directions.  While he downloads it first to YouTube, I went directly from Screencastify to YouTube and I was able to add music.  The nice feature since you are using the YouTube editor, all the music is approved for YouTube.

Sharing Youtube videos (Safely)

Ever want to share Youtube video without having any suggested videos appear?  Alice Keeler has the answer! You can embed the video in Google Slides and use the format option to customize the video.  See complete directions here.

Remix YouTube videos-(Lavallette in the summer)

Looking for an easy way to mix/mash Youtube videos?  Try DragOnTape.  Create a free account and let the mixing begin.  Search for video, drag onto your timeline and then edit.  Since I’m waiting for the crew to wake up (so we can shovel) and I am tired of looking at snow, I created a remix of warmer times.  You can link or embed your product.
